Risalat Al-Haramain is a mobile content app for visitors to the Two Holy Mosques, built with Flutter for Android and iOS. It brings guidance material together in one place: a library of books, videos, audio, and articles, and a gallery of selected Quran verses and Hadith that can be saved or shared as designed image cards.
The app serves a global audience, so localization shaped most of the work. The interface ships in 100 languages with full right-to-left and left-to-right support, and content reloads in the selected language as soon as the user switches.
Key features
- Home feed: the latest library material and a carousel of featured verses and Hadith.
- Multimedia library: books with an in-app PDF reader, video and audio players, and articles, browsable by category and searchable.
- Ayat and Hadith gallery: a swipeable vertical card gallery, with one-tap sharing as an image card on a designed background.
- Saved and downloads: bookmarked items and offline downloads, each in its own list.
- Global search: search across all content types with filter tags.
- 100 languages: an in-app language switcher with full RTL and LTR layouts.
My contributions
- Led the UI redesign of the Home and Ayat/Hadith screens, built from reusable, responsive components.
- Refactored the codebase to remove duplication: one shared content card, and the Saved and Downloads screens merged into a single generic paginated screen.
- Upgraded the project to Flutter 3.44, including the localization, theme, and Android Gradle migrations.
- Prepared the app for release by cleaning up permissions and removing sensitive data from the source.
